About Extracting Images from a PDF
This pulls out the images that are stored inside the PDF, at whatever resolution they were embedded at. That is a different thing from converting pages to pictures: a page containing a 2400-pixel-wide photograph gives you that photograph, not a screenshot of the page with the text and margins baked in.
If you want the pages themselves as images, PDF to Image renders them instead. The two answer different questions, and which one you want depends on whether you are after the artwork or the layout.
Small images are skipped by default, because most PDFs are full of tiny bitmaps used as bullets, rules and logos in headers. Raise or lower the threshold if the one you want is being filtered out.
Note that a picture which was drawn as vector art - a chart from a spreadsheet, a diagram from Illustrator - is not an embedded image at all. It is drawing instructions, so there is nothing to extract, and it will not appear here.
