About Change Audio Speed
Changing the speed resamples the audio, so a 2× file is half as long. Pitch rises and falls with the speed, the way it does on a record player at the wrong RPM - that is what resampling does, and it is usually what people mean by speeding audio up.
Holding the pitch steady while changing the speed is a different and much harder operation - it needs a phase vocoder to stretch time without moving frequencies - and is deliberately not attempted here rather than done badly. If you need speech to stay natural at a new speed, use an editor with proper time-stretching.
The result is exported as WAV, which is lossless, so re-encoding does not add another generation of compression artefacts.
