By completion, you'll have practical experience with HTML, CSS, Terminal, and creating multi-page web products using BEM, Flexbox, and Sass. Module 2 of the Software Engineering course expands your HTML and CSS knowledge by teaching JavaScript, a widely-used programming language. You'll build a strong JavaScript foundation and see how integrating it with HTML and CSS creates dynamic, interactive experiences. By the end, you'll use your newly-acquired JavaScript skills to start creating your first software engineering portfolio project.

Back End Development

Module 3 focuses on creating a full-stack project, with a focus on back-end development. You'll learn to use Node.JS and Express to build your own REST API web server for powering web apps. Additionally, you'll be learning to create databases using SQL to have persistent data for your web apps. After which, you'll learn how to integrate your web server to any front end application.

In module 4 of the Software Engineering bootcamp, you'll learn to build single page applications (SPAs) that mimic native apps using React, a top front-end library. No you don't need any prior knowledge, however we will be sending you some pre-work to complete and it is very helpful if you already have some background with basic coding in HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
What equipment do I need? expand_more
PC/Mac computer with minimum 8 GB RAM and 128GB SSD. A second monitor screen is recommended for coding practice during online sessions. All required software will be installed during class.
